Although within a few miles of the centre of Belfast, we are nestled in the Castlereagh Hills with green fields all around us and overlooking the city. Belfast spreads across a valley beneath us, with the River Lagan flowing through it, and with the two great cranes of Samson and Goliath in the Harland & Wolfe shipyard towering above it.

 

The hills provide some of the most outstanding views over Belfast Lough and the Holywood Hills, where you have an excellent view of the local government buildings at Stormont. Southwards, from the top of the bell tower, you can look over the drumlins and the delightful undulating countryside of County Down and beyond, whilst northwards you can see the town of Antrim and the picturesque County Antrim coastline.
